This is one robust shiraz that can be enjoyed now and long into the future, so don't be afraid to hold on to a couple of bottles. In the glass, the colour is a deep crimson red and there’s lifted aromas of plum, pepper, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate is full and generous with dark fruits, interwoven spice and savoury tannins. With Angela Miranda at the helm of the winemaking, this is one well made wine. There's a good dose of American oak in the ageing regime on this, adding a touch of coconut and further vanilla to the wine. It’s ready to go with a big ole’ steak right now or will happily nap in your cellar for 15 years. This big boy is here for you now and in the future.

If you don’t know by now, we think it’s time for you to loop yourself in. The Pirramimma Limited Edition Shiraz comes from the fruit out of the famous “War Horse” and “Ironstone” blocks. The vines are old and what they lack in quantity (yield), they make up for in superb quality. Full bodied, but balanced with pepper and spice, there are just so many layers to discover in this wine. Laden with luscious, ripe blackberries, earthy blackcurrants, mocha, hints of cedar and a dollop of liquorice, you’re in for a treat with this divine, velvety red.

A new staple. This lively shiraz showcases Mitolo's ability to create a point of interest in every wine. Initially bright and energetic with notes of violet and dark cherry but with underlying savoury aspects and fine tannins. A nuanced and thoroughly drinkable wine.
This year was all quality. 2022 brought a near-perfect growing season to McLaren Vale, a rare vintage that brings both high yields and also, concentrated, high quality fruit. The Lupo is a wine that shows us what McLaren Vale is all about - good fruit, put in good barrels, creating good wine. There's bright but dense plum and cherry flavours interwoven with seamless oak and pleasant lingering tannins. If you're a fan of Mitolo, or even the region in general, then this is one you've got to try.

This is McLaren Vale at its best - a grenache, shiraz and mourvèdre blend that shows exactly why these varieties thrive in the region. Bright crimson in the glass, it opens with lifted violets, raspberry, strawberry and pretty much the whole spice rack: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and dried thyme. The palate is generous yet refined, with juicy red fruits of raspberry and cherry woven through with darker plum and blueberry. Subtle notes of brown spice and herbs add complexity, while fine acidity and textural tannins drive length and elegance. The result is a beautifully balanced, versatile red that’s just as happy with pizza and pasta as it is alongside lamb or steak.

This is jam packed full of black and red fruit - currants and raspberries mix with bramble and plums. The earthy and greener notes chime in late, backing up that initial fruit with some savoury depth. Classic Coonawarra - completely delicious. Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine - and we're speaking from experience.

This is the cabernet you reach for when you’re making something decent for dinner but don’t feel like opening a “special occasion” bottle. Splash a bit into the Bolognese, have a glass while it simmers, then open a fresh one for the table without a second thought. It’s classic Coonawarra in feel, from a producer the locals know well. Weeknights are sorted! Medium-bodied, blackcurrant-led, with that regional freshness keeping things tidy. There’s a touch of oak in the mix, just enough to round things out without turning it into a project wine. This is cellar-door stockpiling territory. The sort of bottle you’d happily grab by the dozen because you know exactly what you’re getting every time - reliable, tasty, and easy to work into the week. Good wine, good price, good company. That’s the brief, and this one smashes it.
