1x Reschke Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This family winery have been landowners in Coonawarra for over 100 years. They are Coonawarra experts and the jewel in their crown is, of course, cabernet sauvignon. Their wines consistently score highly with critics and this 2020 cellar release is a showcase of a deep understanding of the land and masterstroke winemaking.
The blackberry fruit concentration is immense and elevated by fine, dancing tannin. It wouldn't be Coonawarra without the marriage of mint and tobacco, rounding out mouth-feel and driving complexity. This is fantastic drinking now and will age gracefully for another decade.
You’d pay $65 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Ben Murray Wines Grenache 2022
Red — Grenache
Barossa — Australia
Sam Kim called this wine "gorgeously fragrant", we'd go a step further, we'd say it's so fragrant that if you popped a bottle on a Wednesday, you'd still be smelling ripe blood plums on Friday morning. It's not just the nose either, cling onto your socks Mofo, the first sip of this will knock them clean off.
The fruit for this hottie was sourced from 68 to 105-year-old vines in the famed Marananga sub-region of Barossa. Destemmed (with 20% stalks added - it is grenache after all), matured in seasoned French oak and shipped off all around the country to be enjoyed by thirsty little Mofos like us! Seems simple enough right? Wrong! This is where the nuance comes in, the slope of the Marananga hills, the soil type, the brand of the barrels and, most importnantly, the know-how of the winemaker. Luck for us this winemaker knows everything there is to know about the land, the soil, the barrels and whatever else you could possibly think of. A smart wine made by a smart, albeit mysterious, man!
You’d pay $45 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Ox Hardy Upper Tintara Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Tried, tasted, guzzled and enjoyed. Blewitt Springs has been consistently popping out some of the best shiraz in McLaren Vale for years and this is no exception. Bold and bright but softened with age. The price on this one feels like a glitch, delicious wine.
The Blewitt Springs area of McLaren Vale has a pretty good argument for becoming a fully fledged sub-region. Known for exceptional natural acidity and enduring, plush fruit, the sandy soils really lend themselves to a modern expression of McLaren Vale shiraz with an old school twist. Dark fruit, wonderful acid and that classic chocolatey note that you'd expect from a wine that's spent 18 months in French oak barrels. What more could you want from Australia's favourite variety - shiraz all over.
You’d pay $38 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Brash Higgins 'MCC' Mataro Carignan Cinsault 2021
Red — Red Blend
McLaren Vale — Australia
This isn’t your everyday red blend. The 2021 MCC from Brash Higgins brings together three old-world grapes - Mataro, Cinsault, and Carignan - in a seriously fresh, modern Australian package. It’s lifted, perfumed, and a little wild in the best way. Juicy red and blue fruits, gentle spice, and a savoury streak run the show here, all tied together by a light touch and a whole lot of soul.
You’d pay $35 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x All Saints Estate Durif Durif 2022
Red — Durif
Rutherglen — Australia
Intense, swirling, pronounced red and black fruit. The kind of wine that feels so immediately satisfying as it glides across the palate. Prickly little tannins grab at the tongue but they’re cleaned up by lashings of ripe raspberry, roasted coffee, and briary fruits. That density is urged on by freshness and focus, and the wine finishes long and clean - some vanilla and dark chocolate rounding out the complex flavour profile. At once elegant and punchy. Enjoy it now in all its exuberance, or cellar a while and let the moody, leathery, earthy intensity come to the fore.
You’d pay $35 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Amelia Park Ironstone Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Frankland River — Australia
This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.
Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!
You’d pay $33 full price.

1x Whistler Wines Divergent GSM 2023
Red — GSM
Barossa — Australia
Shiraz. Grenache. Mataro. Three grapes, one delicious purpose - happiness.
This red blend is designed to be juicy, easily-enjoyed and way more impressive than the price tag suggests. This one is just as comfortable in a paper cup at the park as it is in a Riedel decanter at a fancy restaurant! Shiraz brings the depth with plush blue fruits. Grenache ups the fun with a hit of bright red berries. Mataro anchors it all with a bit of grip and earthiness. All in all we've ended up with an utterly complete wine. One with gorgeous fruit flavours and notably vibrant versatility. Throw it next to anything barbecued and you’ll be cheering. Better yet, give it a light chill on a warm day and you’ve found yourself a completely new drink! Effortlessly drinkable, seriously satisfying and insanely populer - this is your new go-to red for any (and every) occasion.
You’d pay $28 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Rymill The Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Everyone needs a wine like this in the cellar. Nothing over the top, nothing flashy, nothing trendy - a real workhorse. Regionally and varietally perfect, a bottle to reach for when you feel like 'a Coonawarra cabernet' and what a Coonawarra cabernet it is! Plum, blackcurrant, liquorice and refined oak leap out of the glass and, joined by a weighty texture and soft tannin, fill out the entire palate. The natural acid brings a lively, 'light-on-its-feet' brightness to the palate and extends the flavoursome finish. There's hints of mint and Eucalypt, as you'd hope from Coonawarra, but nothing that's going to put off anyone new to the region. If you've never tried Coonawarra cabernet but always wondered what it tastes like - this is what it tastes like.
You’d pay $25 full price.

1x Hahndorf Hill 'Gru' Gruner Veltliner 2023
White — Gruner Veltliner
Adelaide Hills — Australia
This wine is unique, and pretty special. A producer who are amongst the most iconic of Adelaide Hills wineries, and are especially known for their alternative Austrian varietals such as grüner veltliner. In fact, they produce some of Australia’s best examples of the variety - a previous vintage by this lot won 'world’s best grüner outside of Austria'. The care and detailed attention that has gone into this wine is astounding, and it shows. Lean and vibrant, with notes of cumquat, green apple, mandarin and lime, this is a real showstopper.
You’d pay $33 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Vintage Longbottom 'H' Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Adelaide Hills — Australia
We’re injected with a sense of joy every time we get the chance to drink Adelaide Hills chardy. Partly because it seems to be the spot where no-wrong-can-be-done, and partly because the people who make the stuff up there in the Hills are always so damn delightful. This chardy is beyond a steal at this price, that offers richness from 8 months in oak, yet predominantly greets you with a fresh, citrussy and peachy palate. Chuck a bottle or two of this in the fridge, and you’re ready for anything the week might throw at you.
You’d pay $28 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Pauletts Clare Valley Riesling 2023
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Clare Valley riesling proves, again, that it's one of the best 'bang for your buck' wines in the world, yep, __seriously__. Packed full of distinctive regional qualities: lemon-lime cordial, orange blossom, zippy acidity and that slatey mineral note we all know and love - this is an absolute winner.
Right in the sweet spot. On the spectrum of Clare riz, this sits bang in the middle, 'the goldilocks zone', so to speak. The acid is prevalent, but not too austere. The fruit is developed, but not overly rich. The mineral aspects are refreshing, but not spritzy. It's the kind of wine you can show to anyone, but far from boring. A fresh, dry and completely delicious bottle of rizza that'll have you reaching for another glass quicker than you think. A little dangerous in that regard. Drink now or have a look in 5 years.
You’d pay $28 full price.

1x Higher Plane SSB 2023
White — SSB
Margaret River — Australia
Few wines are quite so shamelessly smashable as a sem-sav blanc blend. And this one seems to be hell-bent on topping the pile. Semillon brings drive and freshness, with citrus and delicate herbs. The savvy brings passionfruit, nashi pear and mouthwateringly juicy lime flavours. The result is a combo that’ll keep you enchanted from first sniff to last sip.
You’d pay $25 full price.
