Why do we love this case?
We see some of Australia's greatest pinots at the tasting bench. After countless tastings and plenty of robust debate, we've eventually settled on a line-up of wines that represent the highest-quality, most-awarded and, very importantly, most delicious, pinot noir on offer. From the cool shores of Tassie to the rolling hills of Yarra and everything in between- we've got you covered.
1x Eldridge Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
Red — Pinot Noir
Mornington Peninsula — Australia
This aged Mornington pinot takes a clear position - fully destemmed in defiance of the whole-bunch obsession dominating Aussie pinot lately. Sometimes courage means zigging when everyone zags. A medium-bodied entry leads to supple palate where red cherry, rhubarb and winter strawberry overlay forest floor earthiness, dried herbs, gamey notes and spicy cedar. Polished, silky tannins feel deliberate, slaty and genuinely thirst-quenching, melding with enduring natural acidity to elongate the whole affair very impressively.

1x Yering Lane Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Barossa
This is a Yarra Valley pinot with the precise prettiness that we've all come to expect from - huge call incoming - Australia's greatest pinot region. Grown in the luscious Yarra Valley hills of Gruyere, from the ever-popular MV6 clone, and matured for 10 months in French oak, it’s a wine that nails the balance between purity and complexity. The nose is singing - raspberry, cherry, poached rhubarb and a cool note of spearmint, with oak spice drifting through. The palate is built on bright acidity and soft, powdery tannins. Red currants, hibiscus and baked cherry pie. It’s layered, lifted and built to charm - a perfect match for mushroom gnocchi, but equally at home as the sole star of the show. You could absolutely drink now or watch it evolve over the next 5-6 years - the choice is yours.

1x Punch Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Barossa
Halliday Wine Companion described this as "One of those wines that, when you drink your last bottle 6–10 years from now, you'll wish you had more of". We reckon that pretty much hits the nail on the head, complex and brooding yet bright and light-footed. Too good to drink, too good not to. A blessing and a curse! A 95pt Halliday rating and 4.1 Vivino score confirm what we already suspected, both reviewers and punters are falling in love with this wine left, right and centre. Jump on it while you can, these never last long. 2023 was a bit of a ripper vintage, for the Yarra at least, and the result is soft yet generous pinot noir with wonderfully crisp acidity and enduring fruit. Think ripe cherries and fresh strawberries with an underlying earthiness and lingering velvety tannins. This has Yarra Valley pinot written all over it and with 2 or 3 years under its belt, this little number is raring and ready to go, with a loooooong life ahead of it.

1x Austin's Wines Moorabool Valley Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Geelong — Barossa
A bright, primary fruited wine with vibrant red cherry and soft plummy notes. This is essentially a multi-clonal blend of the very best barrels available, the overall treatment ends up being about 20% new french oak allowing for a complex and rounded wine with a beautifully silky tannin structure. Age will bring complexity and perhaps some more savoury aspects. Drinking now will show pure, concentrated fruit and seriously high quality oak. A fantastic example of very skilful winemaking.

1x Palliser Estate White Label Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Martinborough — New Zealand
Juicy, lively, absolutely moreish. Bright acidity carries waves of fresh berries and stewed rhubarb, while a kiss of toasty French oak adds just enough sophistication without overwhelming the wine's natural elegance. Fine tannins and a peppery backbone give this relatively light-bodied pinot surprising power and structure. Plump strawberries and tart raspberries working with earthy undergrowth and warm spice. There's a savoury complexity here that hints at of forest floor and wild herbs - this isn't your typical fruit-forward crowd-pleaser. This is pinot with personality.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Innocent Bystander Reserve Collection Pinot Noir 2021
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Barossa
We all know the Innocent Bystander label, it's at the bottlo, it's at your mate's place, but we want to make something extremely clear - THIS IS NOT YOUR EVERY DAY INNOCENT BYSTANDER PINOT! This is the 'Reserve Collection', the very best fruit, awarded the very best treatment in the winery, with only the very best barrels making the final cut. This is how you one-up your mates! Pinot is the Yarra Valley's pride and joy. The hero variety for the region, carefully balancing classy complexity with pure drinking pleasure - a full-on riot of berries laid over a bed of fine silky tannin. Blueberry, boysenberry, cherry and earthy dried spices on the nose. Plush red cherry with darker hints, spice, soft silky tannins. Perfect with mushroom pizza, duck ragu pasta, your best glass and vinyl crackle. As we said - only the very best makes the cut!
