Why do we love this case?
We see some of Australia's greatest pinots at the tasting bench. After countless tastings and plenty of robust debate, we've eventually settled on a line-up of wines that represent the highest-quality, most-awarded and, very importantly, most delicious, pinot noir on offer. From the cool shores of Tassie to the rolling hills of Yarra and everything in between- we've got you covered.
1x Mumm Pinot Noir Pinot Noir 2022
Red — Pinot Noir
Central Otago — New Zealand
The first still wine from an utterly iconic, but apparently shy, Champagne house. This crew have access to some of the best pinot noir grapes in the entire world - Champagne is a part of Burgundy after all - it speaks volumes to the quality of the fruit that this famous producer decided to come half way around the world just to get their hands on the good stuff, Central Otago pinot. The wine is highly regional and varietal with a complex mouthfeel and flavours of black cherry, plum, graphite and forest floor. A subtle hint of French oak and silky tannins prolong the finish and send you back for another sip before you've even finished your first. This one's an absolute cracker.

1x Punch Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
Halliday Wine Companion described this as "One of those wines that, when you drink your last bottle 6–10 years from now, you'll wish you had more of". We reckon that pretty much hits the nail on the head, complex and brooding yet bright and light-footed. Too good to drink, too good not to. A blessing and a curse! A 95pt Halliday rating and 4.1 Vivino score confirm what we already suspected, both reviewers and punters are falling in love with this wine left, right and centre. Jump on it while you can, these never last long. 2023 was a bit of a ripper vintage, for the Yarra at least, and the result is soft yet generous pinot noir with wonderfully crisp acidity and enduring fruit. Think ripe cherries and fresh strawberries with an underlying earthiness and lingering velvety tannins. This has Yarra Valley pinot written all over it and with 2 or 3 years under its belt, this little number is raring and ready to go, with a loooooong life ahead of it.

1x Austin's Wines Mastersons Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Geelong — Australia
This is refined, savoury and dangerously drinkable pinot from the cool-climate heartland of Victoria. Red cherry, plum and dark chocolate meet silky tannins and fine French oak in a wine that’s all charm, structure and smooth-talking style. It’s got all the good stuff, the tannins are soft, the palate’s silky, and there’s plenty of fruit weight to keep things humming. It’s elegant, complex and built to impress - whether you’re sipping solo or pulling corks for guests. Serve it straight out the bottle (liberally), and pair it with roast duck, mushroom risotto and a couple of your favourite people. This is the kind of pinot that reminds you why you fell in love with the grape in the first place.

1x Chatto Creek Undaunted Mine Pinot Noir 2015
Red — Pinot Noir
Central Otago — New Zealand
Elegantly fragrant with spiced cherry, clove, thyme, and all the usual florals, touched by hints of nutmeg complexity that immediately signal serious winemaking. This isn't simple fruit-forward pinot - this is layered, sophisticated and ultimately, utterly captivating. On the palate, everything clicks into place. Juicy and vibrant, delivering delicate fruit intensity balanced by fine texture and polished tannins that bring a healthy structure. Gentle, well-balanced, finishing pleasingly dry - this is pinot noir that used to hint at great things ahead. Well, guess what? After 10 years, the 'great things' have arrived. No more waiting, just get into it - you deserve it!

Tasting Notes
1x Palliser Estate White Label Pinot Noir 2022
Red — Pinot Noir
Martinborough — New Zealand
Famous for silky, slick expressions of pinot noir, NZ's Maritnborough region might be small, but its wines punch well above their weight. This is a perfect example of what the region has to offer - concentrated, spicy and pristinely fruited. New Zealand pinot, with an eye on elegance. Juicy, lively, absolutely moreish. Bright acidity carries waves of fresh berries and stewed rhubarb, while a kiss of toasty French oak adds just enough sophistication without overwhelming the wine's natural elegance. Fine tannins and a peppery backbone give this relatively light-bodied pinot surprising power and structure. Plump strawberries and tart raspberries working with earthy undergrowth and warm spice. There's a savoury complexity here that hints at of forest floor and wild herbs - this isn't your typical fruit-forward crowd-pleaser. This is pinot with personality.
You’d pay $45 full price.

We can't believe we've managed to get our hands on this one! From two of the most premium blocks in this producer's extensive holdings, this delicious drops is loaded with ripe dark fruits and red berries. Nine months on lees in premium French oak has imparted incredible drive and structure, but the wine remains elegant and silky on the palate, perfectly supported by ripe tannins. W-O-W!
