Why do we love this case?

We see an absolute shed-load of Chardy here at Vinomofo, literally. After countless tastings and plenty of robust debate, we've eventually settled on a line-up of wines that represent the highest-quality, most-awarded and, very importantly, most delicious, Chardonnay that we have access to, right now! Whether it's a life-changing Margaret River rockstar or a gorgeously matured Mornington maverick - we've got you covered.

Included in this case:

1x Atticus Premium Museum Chardonnay 2010

White — Chardonnay

Margaret River — Australia

To be fair, Margaret River rarely has a challenging vintage, but 2010 was nothing short of exceptional, particularly for chardonnay. Beautifully balanced, wonderfully vibrant and patiently matured, this is a really special drop. Both the bouquet and the palate are chocka-block-full of white peach, green apple, fresh butter and seamlessly interwoven French oak. A vibrant acidic structure carries throughout and leads to a lingering finish with discernible hints of creamy oak. A classy wine with a beautiful mouthfeel and exemplary fruit concentration. You won't be disappointed.

You’d pay $80 full price.

1x Byron & Harold Gravity Black Chardonnay 2024

White — Chardonnay

Australia — Australia

A little rich and a little creamy. A powerful citrus core framed by riper tropical nuance. This is the Margaret River chardy we've been hangin' out for. The wine is lead by a fleshy lemon and lemon drop confectionary citrus drive. There is genuine power and presence in that bright acid core. Some tropical notes of ripe melon and charred pineapple play on the edges, with desiccated coconut and vanilla offering further complexity. Fresh cream and star anise aromatics reveal themselves late in the piece once the wine has had a moment to open up a little. The finish persists longer than you think it will, exciting and surprising long after you've set the glass down. Drinking brilliantly now, but don't be afraid to set a few down for up to a decade - you'll be handsomely rewarded for your patience.

You’d pay $60 full price.

1x Ghost Rock Estate Chardonnay 2024

White — Chardonnay

Tasmania — Australia

Green apple and pear initially, with focused, laser-like citrus acidity that races up the centre of the palate. Some nutty, mealy, biscuity savoury notes chime in just after and offer another dimension to the wine. This is a beautiful expression of fruit - lifted and aromatic and tantalisingly refreshing. Seriously limited wine from an already small producer - get in quick or miss out.

You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Jones Road Chardonnay 2022

White — Chardonnay

Mornington Peninsula — Australia

This is chardy that strikes a fine balance between fruit richness and acidity, with just enough oak influence to round it out. Pure fruit intensity and a rounded texture, Mornington chardonnay in full flight. Perfection. This wine is quite plainly a labour of love. It's a masterclass in careful consideration of every step, with the end goal being true balance - a finely tuned wine that expresses time and place. The ripe fruit is developed and firmly grounded in the grapefruit and lemon citrus spectrum. There is creamy breadth to the wine, a softness and suppleness on the palate that's flanked by assured acidity and freshness. The finish is marked by generous yet not overstated or flashy oak. This is excellent Mornington chardonnay - the only downside is its relative scarcity. Get in quick chardy lovers.

You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Punch Wines Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

White — Chardonnay

Yarra Valley — Australia

Punch Wines are quite possibly the most exciting boutique Yarra producer. They make some wicked wines well worthy of more recognition. This particular vineyard, to give you an idea, is near Christmas Hills, and is one of the oldest of the Yarra Valley. In short, it’s a bloody good spot to grow grapes. This chardy was whole bunch pressed directly into barrel, where it spent months resting on its lees and building all that toasty, rich complexity. This is not a showy wine, elegantly understated just like its maker. It calmly reveals its hand, holding all aces. Its probably got a few more up it’s sleeve for the coming years, too. Oh, and production numbers are remarkably low, so don’t delay.

You’d pay $55 full price.

1x Miceli Olivia's Chardonnay 2021

White — Chardonnay

Mornington Peninsula — Australia

A very impressive chardonnay, that gets the ‘full works’ from a winemaker who doesn’t shy away from stirring a bit of intensity into a wine. From toasty French oak to 100% malo (bringing buttery notes and extra texture) the complex flavours here have only occurred through maximum devotion, love and attention. Peach, melon, butterscotch... this is sumptuous chardonnay, with a full body that tucks in nicely with a racy acidity. We’ve managed to get the last few cases from the winery of this beautiful drop, so don’t dilly dally!

You’d pay $50 full price.
