We have to say, this one was a hard pack to pull together. Mostly because we kept drinking all of the cellar reserve cabernets ourselves, or couldn’t keep them in stock long enough to bring a pack together.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this case?

The point is mofo, we got there. We all know aged cabernet can be one of those unicorns, hard to find, but priceless when you do. Our producers have done the cellaring for you, so now all that’s left to do is crack these babies open (although we suggest giving them some airing time before diving in).

1x Juniper Cornerstone Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

The 2017 vintage had it's challenges, but this wine and this producer bucked the trend entirely. This is a masterfully crafted, elegant-yet-powerful (thanks to that slightly higher ABV), age worthy Cab. We can't get enough of it (literally, we bought everything we could get our hands on and it won't be enough). Varietal in all the right ways; long, herbed, a touch twiggy, a lot brambly. Where it steps outside the mould a little, though, is in the density of the fruit. It borrows somewhat from the powerful fruit profiles of Coonawarra, but it doesn't shed its Margaret River finesse in doing so.

You'd pay $80 full price.

1x Cape Landing Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

Classic styling from a classic region. Margaret River is a region synonymous with cabernet sauvignon and we just love when wines are put together like this. Here you'll find all of the traits to look for, a delightful bouquet of violets, cassis and dark cherries underpinned by notes of roasted coffee beans and spice from 10 months of maturation in French Oak, all the while being supported by a medium to full body. An easy option for drinking some bottles now, and drinking the rest over 5+ years.

You'd pay $50 full price.

1x Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Limestone Coast — Australia

South Australia’s Limestone Coast is not quite as famous as a few neighbouring regions, and as a result the value to be found there is staggering. At this price, get set for your mind to be blown. It’s got the trademark florality of your classic coonawarra cabs, although we’re talking more intense black forest fruits and pepper rather than your typical violets and berries. If you're anything like us, you'll be astounded at the value here.

You'd pay $25 full price.

1x Wild Game Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

We love to drag something out of the cellar, dust it off, and have it absolutely blow us away. There's no real mystery to it: great winemaking creates wines that last. This is opulent, luscious, deep, brooding, and still exuding freshness and lift. Its velvety on the palate with an intense dark fruit medley of plums, cherries, and blackberries. That fruit profile persists through a lingering finish, balanced by subtle oak and spritely acidity. Ten years has done this wine wonders - mature and balanced but still packing a punch.

You'd pay $60 full price.

1x Flints of Coonawarra Gamons Crossing Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Flints of Coonawarra are a pretty small winery, in a very small region. The Flint family have worked the vineyards of Coonawarra for six generations, and their wines speak to the quality fruit they produce. In fact, the same vineyard that produces this cabernet has historically gone into St Henri cabernet, so you know this is really top tier stuff. Bursting with classic Coonawarra notes of menthol, blackcurrant and eucalypt, you’ll want to return to glass after glass of this beauty.

You'd pay $60 full price.

1x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine- and we're speaking from experience.

You'd pay $35 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Aged Cabernet Sauvignon develops extraordinary complexity through bottle maturation, transforming primary fruit flavours into sophisticated secondary and tertiary characteristics. The tannins soften and integrate beautifully, while flavours like cedar, tobacco, and leather emerge alongside the classic blackcurrant core. This collection showcases wines from premium regions like Margaret River and Coonawarra, where the producers have done the hard work of cellaring for you, creating those 'unicorn' bottles that are increasingly rare to find.

This curated selection offers the full spectrum of mature Cabernet complexity, from rich blackberry and blackcurrant fruits to sophisticated tertiary notes of cedar, cigarbox, and leather. You'll discover intriguing herbal elements like eucalyptus and menthol, classic spice characteristics, and the distinctive tobacco and liquorice notes that develop with proper bottle age. The diverse regional sources mean each wine will express these flavours differently, creating a fascinating tasting journey through Australia's premier Cabernet regions.

Absolutely - these aged Cabernets will benefit significantly from decanting or at least generous breathing time before serving. Mature wines often develop sediment and need aeration to fully express their complex aromatics and integrated tannin structure. Pour slowly into a decanter 1-2 hours before serving, or at minimum open the bottles 30-60 minutes early to allow the wines to 'wake up' and show their true character after years of bottle slumber.

Several wines in this collection carry 'Museum Release' status, indicating they've been held back by the winery for extended cellaring beyond normal commercial release. This practice allows the wines to develop peak maturity and complexity that simply cannot be rushed. Combined with ratings up to 96 points from respected critics like James Halliday and recognition from prestigious wine shows, these bottles represent the pinnacle of Australian Cabernet craftsmanship at its most evolved state.

This selection spans Australia's most celebrated Cabernet regions, each contributing distinct terroir characteristics to the mix. Margaret River brings elegance and herbaceous complexity, while Coonawarra contributes its famous terra rossa soil influence with structured tannins and distinctive eucalyptus notes. The regional diversity means you're experiencing how different Australian terroirs express aged Cabernet Sauvignon, from coastal maritime influences to inland continental climates, creating a comprehensive masterclass in Australian Cabernet excellence.
