Don’t like me? No problem, free returns!
You won’t find me cheaper anywhere else!

Why do we love this case?

The Lucky Dip Case is back! The first time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.

Every case contains the same eleven wicked wines, including some of our absolute faves here at the ‘fo. More info on them below, and they’re all good things. All mofo standard - i.e. nothing we haven’t enjoyed ourselves.

Then there’s the added excitement of seeing which one of these world-beater wines you will receive as your twelfth.

The twelfth wine is the wildcard and could be any one of these:

An iconic Penfolds Grange 2019 worth $1000 - (1 in 100 chance)

Chateau Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappy's Shiraz 2021 worth $320 - (1 in 10 chance)

St Hallet Sacred Ground Shiraz 2022 worth $95 - (1 in 25 chance)

Chalk Hill Wits End Vineyard Shiraz 2022 worth $50 - (at a minimum!)

Each box contains one of these epic wines. The odds vary per wine, but each one is a centrepiece wine, worthy of some truly special occasions.

We should say up front: there are no returns on this - click here for case terms and conditions. As it’s a Lucky Dip, it would be unfair to other mofos running in the draw.

The easiest way to guarantee to get a bottle of Grange is to go out and buy one for yourself. If you, like me, don’t have $1000 handy, this is definitely your best (and cheapest) option! Heard enough already? Pop that case in the cart and cross your fingers and toes! Otherwise, read on for a bit more info on all those lovely wines:

1x Watkins Cellar Reserve Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Langhorne Creek — Australia

This producer might be a new name to some, but their time in the industry goes way back. As evidenced by this cellar selection, they’ve honed the art of crafting wines that stand the test of time. This is an all-family affair, with the new generation stepping in to take the reigns. They’re finally releasing some beauties from their back vintages, and we were quick to jump in and bring our mofos that aged goodness. Cabernet off their currency creek vineyards gave this wine the confidence to see it through the last 6 years, with more still to come. This is the kind of wine that greets you like an old friend. Instantly familiar and merry, sure to entertain you for hours.

2x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine- and we're speaking from experience.

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

King Valley — Australia

Here we go again with another delicious drop from one of the most consistently consistent producers we work with. Everything in balance and such a nice drink. Fruit in the blackberry and plum spectrum, underlying spice and earthiness, a bit of drying tannin. One of those ‘don’t overthink it’ kinda wines, straight up tasty, enjoyable and ready to roll. Good thing you’ll have another bottle of the same ready to go as you’ll want to come back for more.

2x Mount Langi Ghiran Billi Billi Shiraz 2020

Red — Shiraz

Victoria — Australia

If you've ever ordered a glass of red on a plane or at a country pub, odds are you've had a glass of this iconic shiraz. Rich, smooth, spicy and elegant, everything you could ask for in a wine of such outstanding value. It's not so often that a cool-climate shiraz breaks through the BS and claws its way to national (and international) recognition, particularly at this price. Our point is, for this wine to be so widely known and adored can only mean that it's something pretty special. Red plums and violets on the nose, dark fruit, black pepper and soft tannins on the silky, lengthy palate. For this price, you are absolutely laughing.

You’d pay $22 full price.

2x Terra Vino Shiraz 2022

Red — Shiraz

Langhorne Creek — Australia

Deep purple and deeply delicious. This Langhorne Creek shiraz brings all the fruit and then some; dark berries, black cherries, floral spice and a lick of chocolate leap from the glass. On the palate, it’s plush and powerful, with that fruit that carries all the way through to a long, seamless finish. Balanced and bold, this is the kind of wine that just works - particularly with Italian food (thank us later).

You’d pay $20 full price.

Wild Card Wine #1

Penfolds Grange Shiraz 2019

South Australia

98+pts Andrew Caillard MW | 98+pts Colin Hay | 98pts Ken Garget | 98pts Tyson Stelzer | 98pts Jeni Port

"97/3% shiraz/cabernet sauvignon; matured in new American oak for 19 months. A quieter release for the 2019 rendition of Penfolds' world-famous icon. A little less of the formic and VA heft of youth in this showing and a bit more approachable as a result. Deep crimson in the glass with familiar characters of deep black berry fruits, plum compote and black cherry underscored with hints of baking spices, Calvados, espresso grounds, black olive tapenade, roasting meats, creamy oak, purple flowers and earth. Weighty and concentrated with classic Grange density of fruit and tannin; persistent, texturally flexing and long of finish. As per usual will cellar like a dream, but I think it will hit its drinking window a bit earlier than usual." - David Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

Chateau Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappy's Shiraz 2021

Barossa Valley, SA

97pts Ray Jordan | 97pts Sam Kim | 95pts Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot | 4.3 Vivino (All Vintages) | 9/10 Halliday Rated Vintage| Five Stars Wine Orbit

We all know the Barossa, and likely this icon of a wine, but do we really know it’s history? Introducing to you pioneers of this famed region, with this winery established over 150 years ago. They show no mercy when it comes to staying true to the region: meaty, bold, and focused reds with a whole lot of character. You know what we’re talking about: eye-catching hues of purple, soft and silky tannins, and more plummy goodness than you can poke a stick at. There’s cherry and rhubarb sure, but we’re talking unapologetic notes of chocolate, toasty oak and handfuls of freshly cracked pepper. It’s a showstopper, and built to impress even the most discerning of critics - as evidenced by its, not one but two, 97pt reviews.

St Hallet Sacred Ground Shiraz 2022

Barossa Valley, SA

94pts Ken Gargett Wine Pilot | 4.0 Vivino (All Vintages) | Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery| 9/10 Vintage Halliday Wine Companion | Iconic Producer | Killer Vintage

There is no mistaking a St Hallett classic - when it comes to shiraz, and when it comes to Barossa, they don't muck about. The Sacred Ground is an old favourite among the 'big and bold' faithful, and this iteration is no departure from that well earned reputation. Rich, ripe, chocolate, earthy and opulent. Little hints of cedar and tobacco sit deftly around determined, full throttle fruit density. St Hallett at their best - unashamedly broad and imposing while remaining stylish, complex, and relinquishing no ground when it comes to sophistication.

Wild Card Wine #4

Chalk Hill Wits End Vineyard Shiraz 2022

McLaren Vale, SA

Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery | Single Vineyard | 9/10 Vintage Halliday Wine Companion

Chalk Hill are a McLaren Vale institution. Boasting a 5 Star Halliday rating and a stable of wines that'd make some of the world's best very jealous. James Halliday described them as “An outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity”, and this wine certainly fits that description. Lifted aromatics of blood plums, red cherries and flowering herbs open up to a full-bodied palate of chocolate, blackcurrant and various red and black fruits. There's a fine tannin and lingering spice on the finish to make this a wine for almost any meal. Yep, you guessed it, this is an extra McLaren Vale-y McLaren Vale shiraz.
