Quite simply, this is as good as it gets. When it comes to the judgement and rating of wine there is one voice - one endorsement - that rings a little louder and reverberates a little longer: James Halliday and the Halliday Wine Companion.

1x Woodvale Vintners Woodberry Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Clare Valley — Australia
Bright cherry goodness wrapped around a rich fruit core. Smokey spice and floral aromatics. A smooth, round oaky floor. Burnt toffee and campfire nuance. This is shiraz with all the trimmings. Fine grain tannin supports what is a direct and imposing wine. At the risk of mixing metaphors, it plays its many cards with a straight bat. In a lovely spot to drink right now, but the tannin structure, peppy acidity, and fresh fruit profile will all ensure it ages gracefully.
You’d pay $75 full price.

1x Taltarni Reserve Moonambel Vineyards Shiraz Cabernet 2019
Red — Shiraz Blend
Pyrenees — Australia
A classic Aussie red blend meets a classic Aussie producer. Sounds about right, and tastes even better. We’re talking an all-class act, one that speaks of its home in the Pyrenees and the eucalypt influence that punctuates the fresh air. The wine itself is all estate-grown, setting the bar high coming from a winery of this calibre. Rich notes of vanilla and toast gently hum alongside fresh blackcurrants and black cherries, perhaps a little touch of olive tapenade lingering on the finish. You can expect this wine is going to knock your socks off, so set your expectations high and let this gem hit even higher.

1x Corryton Burge Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Barossa — Australia
Blackberry, mocha, mint, fennel, blackcurrant leaf, cedar, cigar box, red currant, coffee, burnt sugar - there's a lot going on here. Brilliant cabernet. The richness of the palate drives the wine, but the fruit is wrapped up tightly in the brightness of the acid. A balanced and persistent finish completes the wine. This is seriously complex and seriously good.
You’d pay $55 full price.

1x Cape Landing Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
Single vineyard cabernet from a Margaret River winemaker who consistently delivers Mofo hits (across a few different labels, although this is our first dalliance with this winery). French oak appears initially, in a deft and nuanced way, without smashing you in the face. Dusty, earthy, rich tobacco undertones - cassis, raisin berries, black currant overtones. This is completely classic margs; rustic, dry, fine, and oozing elegance.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Haselgrove Il Padrone Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Lovers of classic Vale shiraz will adore this! It’s big, rich & round (we’re salivating already and offers loads of inky goodness to get lost in. There’s plush, chewy berries with hints of peppery spice and leather that float intriguingly across the palate. Plums, blueberries and juicy black cherries dominate the fruit spectrum, in that inimitable Vale dark coffee-cake profile. It’ll get even more interesting in a few years’ time, but I, for one, won’t be able to keep my hands off it.
You’d pay $80 full price.

1x Reschke Vitulus Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Coonawarra — Australia
Coonawarra is an endless treasure trove, and we've just struck more gold. Shiraz at it's fresh, lively best. Abundantly fruited, smoooth drinking shiraz that's winning hearts. Reschke know their way around a good bottle of wine, and that doesn't just apply to their famed Coonawarra cabernets. Dark red fruits are complimented by red cherry, cranberry, with touches of allspice and pepper for a generous seasoning. It’s all you could ask for and more.
You’d pay $35 full price.
