1x Yelland & Papps Single Vineyard Greenock Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Barossa
Classic single vineyard Barossa shiraz made from old vines on the western ridge of the valley. There’s opulence, fruit weight, fine tannins and a long finish on this one. Wild yeast has been utilised before nearly two months in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak. Plum, mulberry and clove jump out of the glass upon first whiff. The palate expands even further with vanilla, licorice, dark chocolate and graphite. Smoothness, complexity and depth all wrapped up in a velvety package. This is really, really good vino.
You’d pay $53 full price.

1x Sidewood Estate Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Adelaide Hills — Barossa
If we’re honest, there’s not a single reason that we don’t love this winery. They’re far from being one-trick ponies (although everyone can find a favourite in their range). Whether it be sensational sparkling, succulent sauvignon blanc, perfect pinot noir, or shining chardonnay. This time, the spotlight is on the shiraz. Selected fruit, estate crafted, 100% french oak treatment through fermentation and 15 months maturation, before final barrel selection is undergone. No stone left unturned, no drop of wine slips by without quality assured. To simply say this overdelivers doesn’t do it justice: this excels in its own category and ones above.
You’d pay $27 full price.

1x Stonehaven Wines Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Barossa
Deep, brooding cabernet that flaunts the varietals reputation for medium-plus body. Soft and supple but still boasting broad palate weight that fills the mouth, arrests the gums, and lives on long after its been swallowed. James Halliday called this wine "seriously good cabernet," and, in his brevity, he sums it up perfectly; this bests every mark for classic Coonawarra cab - seriously good indeed.
You’d pay $80 full price.

1x Mandala 'The Butterfly' Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Yarra Valley — Barossa
With 95 points from the all knowing tasting team at Halliday, this crimson cassis beauty is the wonder you’ve been waiting for. Blackcurrant and roasted coffee drive the core of the palate, with some savoury notes of bramble and blackcurrant leaf elevating the finer details of this exceptional drop. A lick of licorice, and delicate hints of crushed violet; this is a cab which is at once bold in its profile and fine with its tannins. Balanced, some may say. Crafted by an exceptional Halliday 5 star producer who knows the Yarra Valley hills back to front, this cabernet epitomises the region. It’s a style that takes a bit of patience to enjoy, so at seven year old this is truly at a beautiful point of its journey.
You’d pay $70 full price.

1x Reschke Bos Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Barossa
This is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The needle in the haystack. This is why we show up to work every day and search the globe for the best wines. This right here, is the epitome of aged Coonawarra cabernet. Reschke are Coonawarra legends, and they don't hold back on the time and care that goes into their wines. Halliday would certainly agree, awarding the 2015 'Bos' 95pts in a recent tasting. Vibrant blackcurrant and oak have come together, tannins mellowed and earthy, secondary elements emerged. Enjoy drinking from the top shelf, you deserve it.
