1x Blue Pyrenees Estate Richardson Reserve Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Pyrenees — Australia
Premium wine should surprise you in some way. It should over deliver and delight. This ticks that box immediately - the aromatic profile is so potent and alluring its almost (but not quite) overwhelming. Spearmint leaf and cool winter berries lead out, with wet earth and eucalypt following tightly behind. Folded into the layers of the medicinal, earthy aromatics are rich blue plum, ripe raspberry, and juicy blueberries. Blue Pyrenees Estate have made a big wine here, make no mistake. But the freshness and purity of the fruit allows this wine to sing a delicate song. Perfectly crafted, worthy of applause.

1x Taltarni Reserve Moonambel Vineyards Shiraz Cabernet 2019
Red — Shiraz Blend
Pyrenees — Australia
A classic Aussie red blend meets a classic Aussie producer. Sounds about right, and tastes even better. We’re talking an all-class act, one that speaks of its home in the Pyrenees and the eucalypt influence that punctuates the fresh air. The wine itself is all estate-grown, setting the bar high coming from a winery of this calibre. Rich notes of vanilla and toast gently hum alongside fresh blackcurrants and black cherries, perhaps a little touch of olive tapenade lingering on the finish. You can expect this wine is going to knock your socks off, so set your expectations high and let this gem hit even higher.

1x Penley Estate Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Premium cab from Coonawarra doesn’t easily come at this price, just so you know. So just feel a little bit special being here, with us and this wine, right now. This is one of those wines that reminds me of the golden era of wine quality-meets-affordability. It’s full-bodied but lithe at the same time - deep and rich, but with poise and purpose. This winery’s put a lot of time, energy and money into making their wines relatable to the current climate of Coonawarra, and we’re reaping the rewards in stacks of quality wine. Bravo.

1x Patritti Wines Marion Vineyard Grenache Shiraz 2020
Red — Grenache Blend
Adelaide — Australia
When we get wines like these to our lips, it’s a hallelujah kind of moment. The Marion Vineyard is one of the most historically significant blocks in the Adelaide region, sitting at 115 years old, these vines have truly seen it all. Mostly grenache, with just a touch of shiraz for that lovely pepper-y seasoning. It’s deep and brooding, with some very subtly integrated notes of oak. Red fruits and plums come to the forefront, as the herbacious notes give it a lifted aromatic quality. Get yourself a glass of history, and let it take you on its journey.
You’d pay $50 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Byron & Harold Gravity Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
A study in rouge; contemplative and seductive cabernet from Margaret River that is just now beginning to reveal pockets of mystery and intrigue. Cassis and currant wrapped in cedar and sandalwood inside a swathe of leather, sweet pepper, and herbaceaous savoury overtones. This is a wine that over delivers at it's regular RRP, let alone what it's going for here. We can see what Halliday saw in it, and we wholeheartedly agree.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Yelland & Papps Single Vineyard Greenock Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Classic single vineyard Barossa shiraz made from old vines on the western ridge of the valley. There’s opulence, fruit weight, fine tannins and a long finish on this one. Wild yeast has been utilised before nearly two months in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak. Plum, mulberry and clove jump out of the glass upon first whiff. The palate expands even further with vanilla, licorice, dark chocolate and graphite. Smoothness, complexity and depth all wrapped up in a velvety package. This is really, really good vino.
You’d pay $49 full price.
