Why do we love this case?
We love it when the critics agree (and all of these wines have received top marks from the worlds best wine minds), but the real proof is in the broader crowd reception. Vivino allows us to gather the thoughts of the drinking many, rather than the critical few. And the consensus is well and truly in on this one: the people love it.
1x Amicus Reserve Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
‘Reserve’ on a wine label is a fancy way of saying ‘this is our best wine’ - but it isn’t always the case. Our advice? Always ‘reserve’ your judgment until you taste it. And wow, this drop is a ‘take-your-breath-away’ kind of reserve. Excellent shiraz is an alignment of the earth and the sun, eclipsing your palate with incredible balance and casting a shadow on a blood-red moon. All is wondrous and right in the world. We can’t help but be enticed by what’s on offer in this wine: silky, ripe red and black fruits, clove spice and pure generosity. Slippery smooth shiraz with ultra soft tannins. There’s no shortage of value here, just at the start of its potential ageing window.
You’d pay $80 full price.

1x Sorby Adams Reverend Canon Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This Barossa shiraz speaks of the powerful Barossa terroir and the master crafters who made it. It’s powerful and opulent, but maintains a certain grace that keeps everything in balance. There’s no surprises here with the flavour profile, an expression of blackberry, plum, chocolate, spices and cedar from the use of 30% new French oak. With a little bit of age up its sleeve, this is drinking beautifully now and will continue to do so for more than a decade to come.
You’d pay $75 full price.

1x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This wine needs no introduction. The much awaited 2022 vintage of this absolute mofo fave. We’re talking about a bold, powerful, smooth red wine that's flown out the door almost as quickly as it comes in. If you don’t know by now, we think it’s time for you to loop yourself in. This Limited Edition shiraz comes from the best rows of their famous “War Horse” and “Ironstone” blocks. The vines are old and what they lack in quantity (yield), they make up for in superb quality. Full bodied, but balanced with pepper and spice, there are just so many layers to discover in this wine. Laden with luscious, ripe blackberries, earthy blackcurrants, mocha, hints of cedar and a dollop of liquorice, you’re in for a treat with this divine, velvety red.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Pertaringa 'Belonging to the Hills' Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
The Pertaringa name is no stranger to the Aussie household. The iconic Hardy family are to wine what vegemite is to toast: a perfect match. So, to land this beauty from the hands of Bec Hardy is monumental for us, and we couldn't be more pleased. This is McLaren Shiraz through and through, with densely packed dark chocolate and fresh roasted coffee exploding on the nose. The palate follows through just as true, layered with preserved plums, dark forest berries and a lick of vanillin softness. There's one word for this wine, and it's awesome.
You’d pay $60 full price.

Red — GSM
McLaren Vale — Australia
Made by one of the big names of the Vale, this GSM is the ultimate crowd-pleaser, thanks to its perennial vibrancy of fruit matched to a meaty palate. Brambly and packed with raspberry and cherry; rich, supple and fresh. For the last few years running, we’ve managed to pick up some of this sought-after wine and it doesn’t last long.

Tasting Notes
1x Xanadu Circa 77 Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
Bold but elegant, supple but powerful, this 2019 is supremely balanced. You'll love the blend of blackcurrants, blueberries, and plums as much as you'll love the subtle undertone of spice and oak. It's exactly what you'd expect from a vibrant Marg drop too - with regional flavours spanning bay leaf, to black olive and even a touch of liquorice to round out the red current characters. A subtle oakiness born from a lengthy 14 months stint in 20% new French oak is the perfect finishing touch. Perfect now or until 2030.
You’d pay $22 full price.
