In March 2015, we saw a Facebook post from Jock Harvey, a mate and McLaren Vale grower. He had a block of shiraz grapes that he wasn't able to pick. He said they were anyone's if they made a small donation to charity. We had a thought... what if we made the grapes into wine that we sold, and donated ALL the proceeds?
Three hours later, we had pickers, tractors, a winemaker, barrels, bottles and labels all lined up. The whole community came together to make the wine a reality, and the Homeless Grapes Project was born.
