2x Hahndorf Hill 'Gru' Gruner Veltliner 2023
White — Gruner Veltliner
Adelaide Hills — Australia
This wine is unique, and pretty special. A producer who are amongst the most iconic of Adelaide Hills wineries, and are especially known for their alternative Austrian varietals such as grüner veltliner. In fact, they produce some of Australia’s best examples of the variety - a previous vintage by this lot won 'world’s best grüner outside of Austria'. The care and detailed attention that has gone into this wine is astounding, and it shows. Lean and vibrant, with notes of cumquat, green apple, mandarin and lime, this is a real showstopper.

2x Windowrie Estate Pig in the House Picpoul Blanc 2023
White — Other White
Central Ranges — Australia
Aromatic, delicate and wholly pleasing. A fantastic accompaniment for oysters, prawns or any other seafood you can think of! If you love gris/grigio, sauv blanc or albarino, this is right in your wheelhouse.
Bright but delicate aromatics of pear, apple and zesty lime set up a subtly structured palate with refreshing acidity and a soft, lingering finish. Looking to try something new without completely leaving your comfort zone? This is the one. Although unique in its elegance and subtlety, there's plenty of familiar flavours for the Australian palate on offer, zesty, refreshing, citrusy and slightly tropical. A complete and interesting table-white and, as the producer says, "this wine is a great accompaniment to oysters, seafood in general, and sunny afternoons".
You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Ironcloud Pepperilly SBS 2023
White — SBS
Ferguson Valley — Australia
This a cracking SBS. Semillon and sauvignon blanc have always been best friends, there's something about the juicy citrus from the semillon that compliments the grassy aspects and tropical fruit flavours of sauv blanc beautifully. Our end result is this gorgeous drop; lifted and zesty with passionfruit and ripe melons, a racy acid line sets up a refreshing, bright finish that will have you pouring another glass before the Fremantle Doctor has even come in.
You’d pay $26 full price.

2x Churchview Silverleaf Chenin Blanc 2024
White — Chenin Blanc
Australia — Australia
Vibrant, regional and very pronounced, this is completely typical of modern Margaret River chenin blanc. This is absolutely bursting with tropical fruit, think pineapple, passionfruit, even guava, but instead of a flabby, oily texture, we have a bright line of natural acid that gives the whole thing a bit of zing and puts a right good pep in your step. A wonderful example of modern, easy-drinking chenin.
You’d pay $18 full price.

2x Peter Drayton Wines Wildstreak Semillon 2020
White — Semillon
Australia — Australia
Semillon from Hunter Valley is about as Aussie as it gets when it comes to wine (save for a juicy South Aussie shiraz cab blend, maybe). White flowers over candied lemon zest and lime juice. Pear, green apple, pithy grapefruit - this is mega classic stuff. There's some steely quality which frames penetrating, promising acidity. This is a slam dunk for lovers of semillon - right in the bread basket.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Matriarch & Rogue 'Dilettantes' Fiano 2024
White — Fiano
Clare Valley — Australia
A party, nay a disco, in your glass! Apple, pear, and hay notes mix with floral honeysuckle and gentle spice backbeats. The palate again features a chorus of pear, lime and apple followed by a light nutty honey and lemon butter hook. The outro is fresh, dry, textural and lingering. All up, this is fiano so good you'll have it on repeat! Based out of the Clare Valley, from a rockstar woman in wine and a dedicated winemaker who chooses specific vineyards that speak to her love of fun, easy going wine. That’s our kind of winemaker! This fiano walks the line of green tropical fruits and preserved citrus, making it approachable on its own, or as the Italians would enjoy it - with food (we’re thinking seafood is called for). There’s a reason why fiano is becoming such a popular variety in Australia, and with this in our glasses, it’s easy to see why.
You’d pay $30 full price.
