1x Chateau Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappy's Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
We all know the Barossa, and likely this icon of a wine, but do we really know it’s history? Introducing to you pioneers of this famed region, with this winery established over 150 years ago. They show no mercy when it comes to staying true to the region: meaty, bold, and focused reds with a whole lot of character. You know what we’re talking about: eye-catching hues of purple, soft and silky tannins, and more plummy goodness than you can poke a stick at. There’s cherry and rhubarb sure, but we’re talking unapologetic notes of chocolate, toasty oak and handfuls of freshly cracked pepper. It’s a showstopper, and built to impress even the most discerning of critics - as evidenced by its, not one but two, 97pt reviews.

Tasting Notes
1x Pikes Settler's Cottage Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Clare Valley — Australia
This is a seriously smart offering. Regional spice and minerality with a generously expressive bouquet of dark fruit, well integrated oak and soft, fine tannins to leave you hanging on every sip. For this price, you're laughing all the way to the barbecue. If you were hanging out in South Australia in the 1880’s, you’d know Pikes for their beers. Fast forward 140 years and and several generations and the Pike family has firmly established themselves as one of the premier wine producers in the Clare Valley. Hops and grapevines, a rather abstract take on the tradition family tree. Their Settler’s Cottage shiraz speaks loudly of the Clare style; bracingly fresh, with aromas turned up to full volume and strikingly fine tannins. This is savoury, sumptuous, superb shiraz.
You’d pay $40 full price.

2x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine- and we're speaking from experience.
You’d pay $35 full price.

2x Mt Bera 'Running with the Cows' Tempranillo 2018
Red — Tempranillo
Adelaide Hills — Australia
Winning the trophy for 'Best Tempranillo' at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show is not something to shake a stick at. There's more temp in the Hills than you might think, and to put it plainly, these guys had to get every little detail of this wine perfect to pull off this win. The acid and tannin structure is overt and old-world-like, but the fruit forward nature of this wine the plushness of said fruit is where the awards are won. Blue and purple fruits, juicy and ripe, with subtle hints of earthiness and that strange tasting note that only ever makes sense for tempranillo - cola (weird but it works). We love this wine, the judges love this wine, you're gonna love this wine.
You’d pay $35 full price.

Padthaway — Australia
Jam-packed with stewed fruit, chocolate and liquorice. 2x Monterra 'M Block' Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Southern Fleurieu — Australia
Another single-vineyard stunner from the crew at Monterra. It was pretty hard not to make amazing wine in 2022, this is no exception. Full-bodied and powerful but soft in all the right places. A classic Australian shiraz with a long life ahead of it and great pedigree behind it.
You’d pay $20 full price.
