We've made it easier for you to step up your wine game with our latest Iconic Wines collection - we're talking big names and big points for big occasions (or maybe it's not a big occasion, maybe it's a casual weeknight, #youdoyoumofo)

From what makes a wine iconic, to our mofo faves, we sat down with our Wine Buyer, Ben, to ask him five quick questions...

What makes a wine iconic?

I consider a wine iconic if even casual wine drinkers have heard of it, it has a relatively long history of being of exceptional quality and it brings that wow factor to a dinner party before you even open the bottle. Even if you don’t listen to rap, you know who Snoop Dogg is. Even if you aren’t a gear head, you’d recognise a classic Mustang on the road.

Why did you want to create this collection?

60,000 mofos order wine from us on a regular basis. They trust us and enjoy the experience of shopping with Vinomofo. There are enough of them that would want these wines to justify curating this collection. And as a bonus, we get to taste and learn about some of the world’s greatest wines.

What’s the one wine you would love to get your hands on?

If this is a personal question, then the answer is Domaine de la Romanée Conti La Tache. I was lucky enough to drink the 2009 a few years back and it really stuck with me. And it doesn’t get much more iconic than DRC.

How long will this collection be around?

I expect that it will be a permanent part of what we do. Early feedback from our mofos tells us that they love having these wines to buy and we love sourcing them, so let’s keep rolling.

What’s your favourite wine from the collection right now and why?

Probably the Cullen Kevin John Chardonnay 2017. I absolutely love top notch Margaret River chardonnay and this is easily one of the best. It’s biodynamic, concentrated, powerful, meticulous and structured.

Seriously

At Vinomofo, we love our wine, but we like to also lead long and happy lives, and be good to the world and the people in it. We all try to drink responsibly, in moderation, and we really hope you do too.

Don’t be that person…
