Vauprin Chablis 2018 – Black Market Deal #37036
This producer has been growing grapes in Chablis for generations, but it wasn’t until 1979 that they started bottling their own wine. This wine is from the hill of Vauprin, one of the highest parcels of Chablis (south-facing) which the producer says “brings the power and the soil brings freshness and a salty finish”. Although from a warm vintage, restrained winemaking, paired with the perfect picking time has resulted in a fresh, vibrant wine. The well-balanced palate is full of yellow nectarines, grapefruit pitch and melon. There is a touch of spice in the wine too which is apparent on the lingering finish.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
