Why do we love this wine?
Haling from a single, organic vineyard just 40km from the ocean in South Africa's Voor-Paardeberg region of the Western Cape of the country is a chenin blanc crafted to be your new favourite, go-to white wine. Winemaker Sophie Schaal knows a thing or two about making wine — she and her partner Julien also make delicious riesling in Alsace, France. Here, chenin's naturally high acid shines through bringing purity and freshness to the fore with maturation in oak barrels adding extra levels of complexity. All of these traits make chenin blanc the ultimate wine for pairing with your favourite dishes, think creamy pasta dishes, rich seafood, pork or flaky fish and anything sweet and sour. Oh, and don't forget your favourite cheese.
