Sauvignon Blanc 2018 - Black Market Deal #35645
- Textural
- Yarra Valley
This one makes us a bit melancholy. It’s the final wine we’ll have from one of our favourite Yarra producers. They’ve decided to close up shop and dive headfirst into a new passion. The good news is that the new passion is whiskey, something we cannot wait to taste when it’s ready to go! Anyways, about the wine at hand - it’s from one of the best known single vineyards in the Valley and is fully on the grown-up side of sauv blanc. There’s characteristics of grapefruit, lemon barley and herbs, all held together by incredible texture drawn from time on lees in barrel. This isn’t Marlborough sauv blanc, but more like those from Sancerre. Absolutely compelling and an incredible last act from a great wine producer.

What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.
