Why do we love this wine?

Mornington chardy is truly a thing of beauty. The burgundian grape thrives on the region’s climate and soaks up distinct terroirs across the region - and that’s only the start of the story. Producers like Kooyong have embraced the story that their land tells (seriously, just jump on their website and see for yourself). When it comes to the winery, they like to take their hands off a little and let the fruit do its thing; when you’ve got fruit as pure and driven as they do, it would be a shame not to. The grapes are handpicked from their vineyards in Teurong and Balnarring lending to this chardy having both fleshy nectarine, zesty orange and grapefruit acidity. There’s some florals on the nose that’ll make you want to sink into the glass, perking up with some ginger and flinty notes. Only thing that would make this more enjoyable is drinking it on a Peninsula beach... who’s coming with us?
