Granbazán D. Alvaro de Bazán Albariño 2018
- Textural
- Rias Baixas
I’ve heard it said “you won’t sell Champagne if you don’t stock Champagne”. I guess the same can be said about any wine style, so we’ve brought in one of the top albariños from epic Rías Baixas producer Granbazán to see what the appetite is! Speaking for myself, my appetite for textural whites that head into the arena of rich is HUGE. This albariño is from the best plots on the famous granite soils of the region and has spent 24 months ageing on fine lees. We simply love the wines of Granbazán, and if you are a fan of regions such as Chablis and Kamptal, you’ll see how their whites are some of the best in Europe.

Reviews
Decanter Magazine
“Intensity to the nose, a concentration of honeysuckle, celery salt, fennel, touch of tomato plant greeness and architecture, with a richness as well as detail. Richness being tinned peach, fresh apricot, even a touch of greengage. Muscular, intense fruit, some briney edge to the finsih. Lovely. Lingering, complex flavours.”
Full price $99.00 from the producer.
