Deux Roches La Côte-Rotie Saint Veran 2019

Let us break this down for you. La Côte Rôtie  is a vineyard situated in the appellation of Saint-Véran in the heart of Mâcon, Southern Burgundy. Not to be confused with the ‘other’ Côte Rôtie which is further south and better known for its reds. The vineyards advantage is that it is southerly facing, protecting it from the fierce northerly winds and an aspect which sees a huge amount of sun fit for ripening. This brings about a richer body to the wine with hallmarks for fleshy honeydew and ripe stone fruit. The vineyards soils are comprised of limestone which compliments the fruit with slatey, minerally undertones and crisp finish. Deux Roches is a favourite at the Fo’ and we’re wrapt to start exploring the 2018 vintage.
