Coopers Creek Plainsman Chardonnay 2018
- Textural
- Hawke's Bay
There’s is nothing plain about ‘Plainsman’ chardonnay from Coopers Creek in Hawke’s Bay. This is a single vineyard wine from their Select Vineyards range, that are their ‘benchmark expressions’ across many varieties. This chardonnay is an absolute joy. It was given the magic combination of time in barrel, lees contact and full malolactic fermentation. These are the key winemaking techniques that build texture and richness in chardonnay. And rich and textural it is! Stone fruits and floral notes abound on the nose, and the palate is wonderfully rich, but balanced, with peaches, cream and a long finish.

Reviews
Winestate
“This subtle, creamy-textured wine was fermented and matured for 10 months in barrels, but with no use of new oak. Fresh and full-bodied, it has very good depth of ripe, peachy, slightly leesy flavours, considerable complexity, balanced acidity and lots of drink-young charm.”
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

Hawke's Bay
Hawke's Bay is New Zealand's oldest wine region, with climate similar to Bordeaux and Sancerre in France. It's no surprise then that their best wines happen to be Cabernet blends and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Syrah. Unfortunately, most of this gets slurped up within NZ, and we have to bang down doors to get some over to Australia. Lucky for you mofos, we're pretty good at this.
