Coopers Creek Big & Buttery Chardonnay 2019
- Textural
- Gisborne
Our quest for big, rich chardonnay is over! Thank you Coopers Creek for bringing your big, buttery, delicious wine into our lives. Based in Gisborne, in the North Island, Coopers Creek make wines from a huge selection of varieties, but itâs their chardonnay that really caught our attention. Of their chardonnay range, itâs their âBig & Butteryâ that we just couldnât resist - and we donât think youâll be able to either.
Profile
The producer describes the wine as âbig, rich and weighty, yet with elegance and finesse.â We couldnât agreed more. New Zealand (speaking broadly) have mastered the powerful chardonnay style and this is no exception. If you like your chardonnay big, rich, generous and delicious - this is the wine for you.
Reviews
Wine Orbit
âEnticing aromas of grilled peach, mango, cedar and brioche lead to a gorgeously flavoursome palate thatâs filled with succulent fruit flavours and creamy texture. Generous and expansive with layers of attractive fruit flavours enhanced by seductive oak nuances. At its best: now to 2024.â
Itâs cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

Gisborne
NZ's most easterly region revels in its relatively new fame for great Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Cult producers like Millton have started to put this region on the world map for good reason.
