Coopers Creek Bell Ringer Albariño 2019
- Fresh, juicy
We’re huge fans of albariño here, but seeing one from New Zealand is a bit different. Turns out the Kiwis know a thing or two about this Spanish grape. This one by Coopers Creek comes from the vineyard of the Bell family (get it...Bell Ringer!!!) just outside of Gisborne. It’s got a nice portion of wild ferment and spends time in older oak barrels, perfect for building texture. There’s even a nice line of salinity that shines through and adds some extra interest to the flavour profile of mandarin, lime and peach. Unexpected and irresistible!
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

NZ's most easterly region revels in its relatively new fame for great Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Cult producers like Millton have started to put this region on the world map for good reason.
