Chardonnay 2016 – Black Market Deal #35569
- Rich, full
- Tasmania
Our favourite Northern Tassie producer has given us rare access to some of their reserve museum wines. This one is from 2016, a vintage on the island that produced fuller wines, making the four years of age ideal on this bottle for great drinking now. The wine is sourced from the best fruit handpicked off two of their vineyards and fermented in barrel to build depth and complexity. It’s also unfined and unfiltered, adding to the allure and texture. There’s heaps of citrus and minerality, all neatly packed into an intense package. This is certainly chardy with that wow factor.

What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
Full price $52.00 from the producer.
Mofo member price is always best price, 100% Happiness Guaranteed. If you find a better price to buy this wine elsewhere, contact our customer team now and we’ll beat it.
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

Some of the country's highest quality and best value wines unarguably come from this wee island, and the average bottle price is higher than any other region. It is probably the most sustainable part of the Aussie wine industry, given its relatively untapped potential and consistency of quality. There's no denying that the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, sparkling and aromatic whites are up there with the best.
