Chablis 2018 – Black Market Deal #37649
- Textural
- Burgundy
This producer has been growing grapes in Chablis for generations, but it wasn’t until around 40 years ago that they started bottling their own wine. Their Chablis appellation wine is made with minimal fuss - only 20% of the wine sees oak, so fruit-purity is at the fore. Although from a warm vintage, this winemaking, paired with the perfect picking time has resulted in a fresh, vibrant wine. The well-balanced palate is full of yellow nectarines, grapefruit pitch and melon. There is a touch of spice in the wine too which is apparent on the lingering finish.

What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
Reviews
John Clark
“Our new favourite Chablis producer balances the racy chablis style with a complexity of french oak. With no 2021 vintage for many producers in Burgundy due to frosts, be sure to invest in a few cases as it'll be harder and harder to track down in the years to come.”
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.
