Profile
Bendigo Hills is a project from the esteemed mofo fave, Rock Ferry in Central Otago - this time, working with pinot gris from Marlborough. This wine has been nurtured all the way through from vine to glass, starting with organics in the vineyard, then lots of love in the winery, including nine months on lees in old oak, building texture. Floral aromas abound, along with pear and crisp green apple. The palate is concentrated with pear and apricots, and a touch of ginger spice. After being aged on lees, a subtle nuttiness shines through with lingering mineral notes giving balance.Â
Reviews
Wine Orbit
âThis is gorgeously ripe and fragrant on the nose showing apricot, poached pear, mixed spice and potpourri aromas, leading to a concentrated palate offering richly textured mouthfeel and delectable fruit flavours. Wonderfully generous and harmonious. At its best: now to 2026.â
