Altos de Torona Albariño Blend 2017
- Fresh, juicy
- Rias Baixas
This Decanter-awarded wine from the Galicia region in northwest Spain is a rare gem, in the form of a blended wine, from an area dominated by albariño. In this case, the albariño is blended with local varieties caiño blanco and loureiro to make a super-aromatic and layered wine. It has a lifted nose with citrus oil, nectarines and fresh herbs. The palate is hyper-driven and both salty and citric.. a bit like a Tommy’s Margarita. It’s equal parts nervy and luscious with stone fruit and lemon pith. This wine is a side-step from riesling and would easily please a pinot grigio fan.
“Aromatic, elegant, intense fresh citrus and complex mineral aromas. The palate is beautifully structured, lively with fresh fruit, concentrated with lovely lingering length.”

Intense nose of stone and tropical fruits (peach, mango) combined with balsamic bay notes and light toasted hints. Refreshing acidity and lingering finish with reminiscent of ripe fruits.
4 months on lees in stainless steel deposits.
Granitic, sandy and very permeable, producing very fine wines with balanced acidity.
