Altos de Torona Albariño Blend 2017
- Fresh, juicy
- Rias Baixas
This Decanter-awarded wine from the Galicia region in northwest Spain is a rare gem, in the form of a blended wine, from an area dominated by albariño. In this case, the albariño is blended with local varieties caiño blanco and loureiro to make a super-aromatic and layered wine. It has a lifted nose with citrus oil, nectarines and fresh herbs. The palate is hyper-driven and both salty and citric.. a bit like a Tommy’s Margarita. It’s equal parts nervy and luscious with stone fruit and lemon pith. This wine is a side-step from riesling and would easily please a pinot grigio fan.
“Aromatic, elegant, intense fresh citrus and complex mineral aromas. The palate is beautifully structured, lively with fresh fruit, concentrated with lovely lingering length.”
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.
