Savian Prosecco DOC Extra Dry NV
- Light, fruity
- Italy
Last year, we dipped our toes in with Savian, an organic producer in Veneto, and imported their pinot grigio. It was an awesome wine and our Mofo’s absolutely loved it. So this year, we’ve gone back for more variety. This is Savian’s prosecco (also organic of course) and it’s a stunner. It comes from estate vineyards in Loncon di Annone, one of the great prosecco-producing areas of Veneto.
Profile
Only the best bunches of glera (the grape that goes into prosecco) make it into this wine. Upon opening the bottle, you’ll find a brilliant straw yellow colour and a fine, persistent bead. The nose is of acacia, sage and mint with fruits like pineapple, golden apple and grapefruit. On the palate it is citrusy, lively, refreshing and a bit savoury. This is from the fancier end of the prosecco spectrum and we are stoked to have it in stock.
Full price $30.00 from the producer.

Italy
Italian wine regions are by far some of the most difficult to learn about. With over 350 official wine varieties, it can be very easy to get lost. Never fear though, you'll see some of your old friends such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese as well as some new friends such as Chianti, Arneis, Fiano, Nebbiolo and Vermentino. Italian wines are a match made in heaven for food, but can easily be enjoyed on their own. Good food and good wine - THAT is the Italian way.
The rules are there ain’t no rules, but here are some foods we think will work pretty well with this wine...
