Juvé & Camps Reserva de la Familia Brut Cava 2016
- Rich, complex
- Penedes
Juvé y Camps are one of the largest and oldest Cava producers in Penedès, the region just outside of Barcelona where Spain’s wonderful sparkling (and serious contender to Champagne) originates. They have been crafting fine sparkling wines since 1796 and are a stalwart of the Spanish wine scene. They have an extensive range of impressive fizz and we’re pleased to share with you their ‘Reserva de la Familia’.
Profile
The Reserva is made from all local varieties and has spend an immense 36 months on lees, developing terrific complexity and flavour. The wine tastes a lot like a the bottle looks - classic, luxurious and a bit OTT. It really delivers the goods for a drinker looking for the rich and alluring brioche that Champagne hooked us all on. Toasty notes are balanced by citrus, there’s spiced apricots too and the lingering finish keeps you coming back for more.
Reviews
Decanter Magazine
“A classic Cava blend of Macabeu, Xarel-lo and Parellada; bready, citrus aromas with hints of honeyed peach and white blossom. Fresh, with a creamy mousse and persistent bubbles. Beeswax, ripe lemon citrus, stone fruit and candied peel, alongside savoury, yeasty notes. Very satisfying.”
Full price $59.00 from the producer.
