Tempranillo 2017 – Black Market Deal #35030
- Medium bodied
‘Yum’ is the first word that comes to mind with this wine. I know that’s not a professional wine review, but it’s extremely accurate. The producer has done something a bit different with this one, adding a tiny percentage of another variety to brighten and lift the wine, complementing the savoury, leathery, earthy tones of tempranillo. Apologies, but I can’t say what the other variety is as that would give away the identity of the wine. Trust me when I state that it’s a bit out of left field though and it borders upon brilliant. Don’t be surprised if this blend catches on as it simply works. In conclusion, ‘yum’!
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

Two hours drive south of Perth, and north of Margaret River, Geographe was officially recognised as one of Australia's wine regions in 1999 and is has over 1,200ha under vine. The region includes premium brands like Willow Bridge, Palandri and Capel Vale, as well as the world's largest free children's play park in Australia, The Apple Fun Park at Donnybrook. Sounds like fun for the whole family to me!
