Shiraz 2018 – Black Market Deal #37601
- Rich, full-bodied
- Langhorne Creek
If you look southeast from McLaren Vale, you’ll see Langhorne Creek off in the distance. Both regions are famous for producing firm, full-bodied shiraz, and in the case of Langhorne - it’s cool breezes from the Southern Ocean that keeps the richness in check, and wines perfectly balanced. This producer is brand new to the ‘Fo, and we suggest getting to know them!
And now about the wine - there is plush fruit - blood plum and blackberries - and a medley of spice and structure from ageing in French oak (20% new). If you enjoy bold and expressive South Aussie shiraz and are keen to check out what the new kids on the block are producing - this is the one!
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
Full price $24.00 from the producer.

With vines and wines dating from the 1800s, Langhorne Creek is an historic wine region, underrated for its earthy, voluminous reds. Dry and warm, perhaps it's even yet to see its best with some of the newer varieties just starting to come on. Metala, Bleasdale, even Wolf Blass have seen (and continue to see) some great fruit from here, used either in single region reds, or to give top end multi-regional blends their heart and depth. The producers from this region are some of the nicest people around, so next time you're in the region remember to pop in and tell them 'hey, I remember you from such Vinomofo hits as...'
