Pinot Noir 2019 – Black Market Deal #37282
- Elegant, lighter
- Marlborough
2019 was a vintage with smaller-than-expected yields in Marlborough due to heat. While that isn’t great for filling the winery, it does lead to incredible concentration of flavour in the grapes. This pinot, of which the producer did not make heaps, was treated to a partial whole bunch fermentation before being laid to rest in a mix of old and new large format French oak barrels. What flows out of the bottle is quintessential Marlborough pinot, laden with cherry and plum, gentle spices, fine tannins and wonderfully silky concentration.
