Why do we love this wine?

Sometimes it all just falls into place. Reserve Yarra pinot noir from 40-year old vines with a bit of age and nearly a decade of vibrant life left if you want to cellar it. James Halliday, who lives in the Yarra and knows every little nook and cranny of the region, gave it 96 points. It’s savoury, earthy and spicy with heaps of complexity surrounding a core of sweet fruit in the realm of cherries and strawberries. This is one to ponder, sip by sip, as you read essays on Greek philosophy from a leather-bound book in your mahogany-accented library. Or just crack it open with a pizza on the back deck...we don’t judge.
