Why do we love this wine?

The history of Bodega Luigi Bosca dates back to the turn of the 20th century when the Arizu family from Basque country and the Bosca family from Piemonte joined efforts upon their arrival in Argentina. After four generations, the Arizu family still runs the day-to-day operations as the winery charges ahead well into the 21st century.

Finca Los Nobles is an absolute triumph for Luigi Bosca. Decanter awarded it a platinum medal and 97 points in the 2020 World Wine Awards (see review below). It’s a field blend of 95% malbec and 5% petit verdot from a vineyard in Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza. The wine feels like a well-balanced meal, not in a heavy sense, but in the way it leaves every taste bud enthralled and satisfied. There’s so much going on, from bright aromatics like lavender to smooth smoky notes that allude to great Argentine asado. The dark fruits are interlaced with sweet spices and fine tannins. It’s chewy, reflective of the terroir and so very complex. Finca Los Nobles is pure Mendoza, but not exactly as you know it.
