Luciano Arduini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2019
- Rich, full-bodied
- Veneto
Oh yeah! This is one reliable wine - our favourite Amarone della Valpolicella has achieved another cracking score from Luca Maroni. In fact, we’re talking a perfect 99 points for the 2019 vintage. Did someone say something about consistency? Either Luciano Arduini has Luca Maroni in his pocket, or the wine is absolutely, irrefutably, irrevocably, the best Amarone we’ve ever had.
Profile
Amarone (dry red wine from semi-dried grapes; brings more concentrated flavour, acid, body… everything) You’d expect to pay triple figures for any example, let alone one of the best. But here we are with something that smacks of fruitcake, super-rich chocolate and spice, plus heady wafts of oaken-rich deliciousness. There is nothing in moderation here. More is more is more.
Full price $130.00 from the producer.

Veneto
Don't box Veneto in. From Prosecco to Amarone, this prolific North-East Italian region is the the biggest DOC producer in Italy (that means it produces wines of excellent and legislated quality). You'll also find Valpolicella and Soave, so you could seriously just stock your cellar with Veneto vino and you'd be set for a rainbow of styles, and all wicked wines.
