Why do we love this wine?

The bush vines that produced the mataro are 117 years old. How’s that for old vine?! And while the shiraz is somewhat younger at a plucky 23 years, the two balance each-other marvellously here. The plump, luscious and fabulously opulent shiraz fruit is set off against the ferociously concentrated, infinitely layered mataro. A Black Forest gateau of fruity flavour sings against characteristically medicinal mataro, giving a gorgeously nuanced wine of incredible depth.
