Lornano Supertuscan Commendator Enrico 2016
- Rich, full-bodied
This is beyond Super Tuscan. This feels like Ultra Tuscan. A wine of such immeasurable complexity, power and dynamism that we’ve heard whispered it’s going to star in a Marvel movie all of its own. A wine with such long-term potential that, rumour has it, cellars themselves give in to time before it does. Immediately cutting-edge, but imbued with the feel of timeless tradition, this wine has garnered 99pts from Luca Maroni, Italy’s premier wine critic. This wine is also a favourite amongst one of our mofo’s, so we will let her do the talking.
“Tuscany dialled up a notch! I am a sucker for a good Italian wine, but sometimes, especially when it's a bit cooler here in Aus, I find I need something with a bit more richness to it, I like to refer to these kinds of wines as winter warmers, ripe red fruit with a bit of plush plum and blackberry. Hello!”

Ah...Tuscany. The home of rolling hills, extra virgin olive oil, Steak Florentine and, of course, Chianti. Everything here is about the earth, and it shows through in the produce. Earthy, vinous, purely rustic and unadulterated. Some of our most enjoyable experiences have come from here. They don't generally come cheap, but they're well worth it.
