Why do we love this wine?

No matter how far, or how wide I roam, I still prefer wine from the Rhône. From the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, to be exact. This ’15 vintage from Domaine Tour Saint Michel is a fiddy-fiddy blend of syrah-grenache, a bright, full-bodied wine packing dark berries, floral notes and a spicy finish.

Robert Parker loved its “dynamite combination of cherries and fresh greens on the nose” and “long velvety finish”, while Jeb Dunnuck reckons it has “excellent purity”. They’ve tasted it young, and 2015 was a high quality vintage in Southern Rhône, so feel free to let this one sit in the cellar and let the anticipation build.
