The ever-trustworthy Robert Parker just awarded this wine 97 points a couple of weeks ago (some time around October 2025). Not when it was released, not based on potential, based on what's right in front of us in the present - this is a 97 point wine right now, over 2 decades into its journey. It's not really a surprise... any discussion about Australia's leading wineries that doesn't include this producer is, by default, incomplete.

Why do we love this wine?
Blewitt Springs' famed sandy soils have gone and produced another masterpiece. When people talk about Australia’s greatest grenaches, this is the yardstick. A single-vineyard number that defines what power and patience can do when they’re perfectly in sync. Even with serious time in bottle, it’s still absolutely humming - dark, almost opaque purple in the glass, with that deep blue-fruited core that feels eternal. Plum, raspberry and liquorice lead the charge, with layers of spice, char, cedar and earth rolling in behind. There’s richness, sure, but also poise - fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity and a finish that just refuses to fade. This is the kind of wine that reminds you why certain producers sit at the top of the Aussie pile. It’s expressive, detailed and built to go the distance, and it has! No more patience required, this one's ready to pour it whenever you want to impress.
