Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 – Black Market Deal #36159
- Textured, savoury
- Langhorne Creek
This pan-South Aussie producer is fast becoming a mofo favourite, across their delicious red and white wines. They seek out parcels of quality grapes in Barossa, McLaren and on this case the maritime region of Langhorne Creek. Their wines are made to a high-standard across the range and are reliably delicious. This cabernet shows off a perfumed nose of flowers, juicy plums and dried herbs, followed by a medium-bodied, ripe and textured palate. There’s a gentle earthiness in the wine that is wrapped in blackberries and a lingering olive tapenade finish.

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.

Region
Langhorne Creek
With vines and wines dating from the 1800s, Langhorne Creek is an historic wine region, underrated for its earthy, voluminous reds. Dry and warm, perhaps it's even yet to see its best with some of the newer varieties just starting to come on. Metala, Bleasdale, even Wolf Blass have seen (and continue to see) some great fruit from here, used either in single region reds, or to give top end multi-regional blends their heart and depth. The producers from this region are some of the nicest people around, so next time you're in the region remember to pop in and tell them 'hey, I remember you from such Vinomofo hits as...'
