Cabernet Blend 2012 – Black Market Deal #34707 - Magnum
- Textured, savoury
- Yarra Valley
We taste a lot of wines here at the ‘Fo when selecting what to stock. If I’m being honest here, I didn’t so much ‘taste’ this one as ‘drink’ it, as in the whole magnum over the course of a few nights. To be fair, I do have a soft spot for well-made cabernet blends with a bit of age on them. This one certainly fits that description and was crafted by a winemaker that is renowned for his work with this blend. If you check out his resumé, you’ll see exactly what I mean. The wine is herbal, softened yet vibrant, a little earthy and still laden with vivid fruit. And it’s a magnum, so why not live large when the opportunity presents itself?
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.
