Meet the mind-bending trad-method French bubbly that’s gonna broaden your horizons and rock your world. Bet you thought great French bubbly was all Champers, and all prohibitively exxy, eh? - King Valley
Fiano is one of the newer Italian arrivals on the scene and we couldn’t be happier that it’s here. Fiano is a versatile grape and suits a lot of growing conditions, from the Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale to the alpine freshness of the King Valley. This KV example is a touch lighter and brighter than what you’d get from the Vale - sitting closer to grigio than say, viognier. There is still heaps of fruit and florals in this wine and acid to accompany all sorts of foods - though no doubt best with something southern Italian.

Sicily may not be the traditional heartland of italian pinot grigio, but it sure as hell produces a good one. They’ve got some wonderful soils there, loads of lovely nourishing sunshine and cooling sea breezes to retain the freshness in the wine. A sip of this is enough to take you there. Crunchy pink lady apples, dribble-down-your-chin pears, zesty citrus aromatics and a soft almondy finish. Beyond delicious, really.

How do you preserve the magical quality of grapes in a hot climate? Pick by night. It is there, in the blackness before dawn, with the cool air offering respite from the scorching heat of day, and accompanied only by the chirruping of cicadas and the melodic cursing of a Frenchman who’s lost his secateurs, that such delicious wine is born. Next time you’re enjoying an ice-cold glass of this over lunch while on your yacht in the med, take a quiet moment to picture where it came from.

This lively and delicious wine is made by Bodegas Olivares who are behind one of the most popular rosés that Vinomofo have ever sold. If you are a fan of their rosé or simply love refreshing, vibrant and very well-priced wines, then this is one for you. From the Jumilla region of Spain, that sun-drenched part of the world has concentrated all its life-force into this ferociously smashable white. Bright acidity and citrus flavours make it zippy right from the get-go, but a warm climate allows for some charmingly sunny orange, peach and spicy notes, too.
