Why do we love this case?

Life in monochrome, mofo. The blackest of Black Markets. The whitest of white wines. This high-contrast box of fun offers incredible value and unbeatable deliciousness in equal measure. If you like your wine light on the pigment, but heavy on the savings, look no further. Should you buy this case? It’s black and white, mofo.

Each case contains TWO of the following wines:

Riesling 2021

Clare Valley, SA

5 Star Halliday Rated Producer | Single Vineyard

When one of the Clare Valley’s best winemakers tells us he’s got some riesling for us, we jump to attention. After our first taste, we jumped even higher. It’s everything you would want from the variety that makes Clare famous. It’s crisp, textural, bright, laser sharp and the tiniest bit rich. The fruit is of that classic riesling profile with an array of citrus spanning from meyer lemon to key lime to grapefruit and even mandarin. We’re loving it and can’t wait for you to as well.

YOU’D PAY $32 full price.

Pinot Gris 2019

King Valley, VIC

The fruit from this gris comes from the King Valley, whose cool climes make for a long ripening season. The grapes underwent a gentle crush and fermentation utilising wild yeast before settling and heading straight to bottle. Nothing else was necessary... just let the juice speak for itself. The fruit profile dominates here with citrus, melon and pear, but you’ll also find the spice and viscosity typical of great gris. Vibrant acid rounds things out to make for a refreshing finish and easy pairing with many dishes.

YOU’D PAY $28 full price.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Margaret River, WA

93pts Sam Kim | 5 Stars Sam Kim | Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

For lovers of the classic sem sav blend, it doesn’t get much better than this. It’s pure Margaret River, Australia’s home of great SSB, and brimming with freshness and vibrancy. There’s the usual lime, nectarine and grassiness, but this one’s got a little more going on with hints of tea leaves and even some jalapeño spiciness. Cleansing, punchy and complex - everything you could ask for from a sem sav.

YOU’D PAY $27 full price.

Pinot Grigio 2021

King Valley, VIC

This’ll keep you cool and refreshed on the hottest of days. It’ll please everyone from Auntie Karen to your grigio-guzzling bestie. Don’t turn your nose up at a great wine doing great work, even if it is as ludicrously low priced as this. Trust in this great value vino. It’ll repay you in flavour, every damn day.

YOU’D PAY $25 full price.

Viognier 2019

King Valley, VIC

This King Valley viognier is viscous and textured in mouthfeel, exhibiting floral aromas that are accompanied by apricot and pear. The palate is rich and creamy, continuing the pear and adding a touch of honeysuckle.

YOU’D PAY $25 full price.

Chardonnay 2019

Yarra Valley, VIC

5 Star Halliday Rated Producer

Seriously delicious and surprisingly complex Yarra chardonnay. You’ll know the producer; you’ll revere the wine. The fruit comes from three vineyards in different corners of the valley, blending together to provide texture, nuttiness, citrus, chalky minerality and some savoury notes. A mix of French oak and stainless steel are used for ageing, further adding to the exquisite balance.

YOU’D PAY $20 full price.

What is a Black Market deal?

Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
