Whites 12.0 – Black Market Mix
- Mixed
- Various
Life in monochrome, mofo. The blackest of Black Markets. The whitest of white wines. This high-contrast box of fun offers incredible value and unbeatable deliciousness in equal measure. If you like your wine light on the pigment, but heavy on the savings, look no further. Should you buy this case? It’s black and white, mofo.
Each case contains TWO of the following wines:
White Blend 2019
Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Vegan Friendly
This one is a funky little blend of the so very French grapes macabeu (75%) and muscat d’Alexandrie (25%). It’s bright, clean and fresh with a nose of honey and flowers and a palate of apricots and peaches. Chill it down, head to the park or beach and have a picnic. This is that kinda wine.
YOU’D PAY $30 full price.
Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Pemberton, WA
Boutique Producer | Single Vineyard
This is speshy savvy from a standout producer in Pemberton, WA. It’s wonderfully lively, with classic varietal passionfruit wonderfully balanced by tangy lemongrass and bright acidity that carries the flavour for ages. It’s seen a touch of oak maturation too. Just enough to add an elegance and complexity to the overall impression, without overpowering any of that clean freshness.
YOU’D PAY $28 full price.
Chardonnay 2019
Yarra Valley, VIC
5 Star Halliday Rated Winery
A crowd favourite from the Yarra Valley, this revolutionary winemaker has been seen as a benchmark since the 90’s for his delicious chardonnay. Bursting with a bright approachability (much like its owner), this vino has a palate of grapefruit and lemon skins, with hints of cashew nut and oak followed by a youthful, lemon citrus finish in the mouth. Vegetarians rejoice, this drop pairs perfectly with some finger-licking veggies.
YOU’D PAY $24 full price.
Pinot Grigio 2019
Sicily, Italy
Sicily may not be the traditional heartland of italian pinot grigio, but it sure as hell produces a good one. They’ve got some wonderful soils there, loads of lovely nourishing sunshine and cooling sea breezes to retain the freshness in the wine. A sip of this is enough to take you there. Crunchy pink lady apples, dribble-down-your-chin pears, zesty citrus aromatics and a soft almondy finish. Beyond delicious, really.
YOU’D PAY $22 full price.
Riesling 2020
Clare Valley, SA
This riesling is all about drive, complexity, fruit purity – the works. There’s orange blossom, jasmine and a touch of mandarin oil enchanting you on the nose to start. The palate doesn’t disappoint either, with lemon zest, lime, a cool minerality and clean, slatey finish. You can cellar this one, too, no problem. It’s gotta be some of the best value in all Aussie wine.
YOU’D PAY $22 full price.
Verdejo 2019
Jumilla, Spain
From the Jumilla region of Spain, that sun-drenched part of the world has concentrated all its life-force into this ferociously smashable white. Bright acidity and citrus flavours make it zippy right from the get-go, but a warm climate allows for some charmingly sunny orange, peach and spicy notes, too.
YOU’D PAY $20 full price.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
