Whites 11.0 – Black Market Mix
Life in monochrome, mofo. The blackest of Black Markets. The whitest of white wines. This high-contrast box of fun offers incredible value and unbeatable deliciousness in equal measure. If you like your wine light on the pigment, but heavy on the savings, look no further. Should you buy this case? It’s black and white, mofo.
Each case contains TWO of the following wines:
White Blend 2019
This one is a funky little blend of the so very French grapes macabeu (75%) and muscat d’Alexandrie (25%). It’s bright, clean and fresh with a nose of honey and flowers and a palate of apricots and peaches. Chill it down, head to the park or beach and have a picnic. This is that kinda wine.

Pinot Gris 2019
King Valley, VIC
Another year and we are yet again gobsmacked by this delicious pinot gris which comes from mature vines in a high altitude vineyard site, and made with thoughtful and precise winemaking. We see an intense palate of fresh cut pear, green apple and subtle spice on the finish. It walks the tightrope of providing plenty of flavour while also being dry and crisp, right in the zone for Aussie gris.
YOU’D PAY $26 full price.
Chenin Blanc 2019
This young and fresh chenin blanc from Western Cape in South Africa may be the start of a love affair with the country’s famous white. The nose shows of yellow fruits, along with citrus and spice. The palate is lifted with driving acidity balancing out pears and nectarines. This is an every-day chenin, perfect with or without food.

Yarra Valley, VIC
5 Star Halliday Rated Winery
A crowd favourite from the Yarra Valley, this revolutionary winemaker has been seen as a benchmark since the 90’s for his delicious chardonnay. Bursting with a bright approachability (much like its owner), this vino has a palate of grapefruit and lemon skins, with hints of cashew nut and oak followed by a youthful, lemon citrus finish in the mouth. Vegetarians rejoice, this drop pairs perfectly with some finger-licking veggies.
YOU’D PAY $24 full price.
Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Margaret River, WA
5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery
Few wines are quite so shamelessly smashable as a sem-sav blanc blend. And this one seems to be hell-bent on topping the pile. Semillon brings drive and freshness, with citrus and delicate herbs. The savvy brings passionfruit, nashi pear and mouthwateringly juicy lime flavours. The result is a combo that’ll keep you enchanted from first sniff to last sip.
YOU’D PAY $23 full price.
White Blend 2018
Barossa Valley, VIC
5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery | Single Vineyard
If you like a Rhône valley white, or perhaps southern Italian, this’ll be right up your alley. Don’t dismiss the ‘field blend’ name. It’s a mosaic rather than a hodgepodge: I found all the components to show cracking balance, and really well-judged. It’s mouth-filling and plushly fruited, with a real yummy orange jelly vibe, peaches and cream, orange blossom and grapefruit. The riesling is an excellent addition, that gives it freshness but doesn’t overpower the riper, warmer fruits with too much citrus. Loads of pithy texture here, too.
YOU’D PAY $22 full price.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
