Why do we love this case?

Maybe it’s just me, mofos, but I feel like white Burgundy hasn’t been getting the same frenzied adulation as its red counterpart in recent years. This is just crazy and we are here to shine the spotlight back on the blancs! This pack is a mixed six of the best Burgundies we could find from the thin strip of wine-growing heaven in eastern France. If you’ve not been giving Burgundy all the love it deserves lately, this’ll remind you exactly why these chardies are still king.

Every case contains ONE bottle of each of the following:

Sometimes the stars just align. We’ve gotten our hands on some Premier Cru Chablis from William Fevre, one of the region’s most renowned producers. The fruit of this limestone-heavy vineyard is hand harvested, very gently pressed, and then fermented. About half goes into tank and half goes into older French oak. After just over a year, the two parcels are blended together to finish maturation in stainless steel. The wine is crisp and concentrated, expressing peach, apple and stonefruit. There’s a bit of roundness and trademark minerality there, along with enough structure to suggest successful cellar aging.

The Vau de Vey Premier Cru of Chablis is on an east-facing slope where the gentle morning sun ripens the chardonnay grapes slowly to perfection. The Tremblay family have been working their plots since 1949 and are true masters of the craft. This wine is finely balanced, persistent and beautifully long. Fruit-wise there is mellow stone fruit notes and more lively citrus of lemon zest and grapefruit pith. The wine has the classic oyster-shell minerality that the region is famous for, sitting amongst a nervy and vibrant texture. This is one to watch unfold and evolve in the glass.

New to the 'Fo

It’s been a few vintages since we’ve had Pouilly-Fuissé in stock. And never have we had one from such a well-known producer as Louis Jadot. Six months of ageing in French oak (including a partial barrel ferment) has woven a tapestry of complexity, structure, purity and drive. Apple, honey, and white flowers interlace with citrus and nutty notes. This is the best of the Mâconnais region, a chardonnay for lovers of the grape’s fullest potential.

Domaine De La Madone Bourgogne Blanc 2019

This Bourgogne Blanc from Domaine de la Madone is from the far south in Beaujolais. While you may be thinking the south is warmer, the vineyards are high altitude and hilly, which means cooler nights, greater complexity and driving acidity. This paired with plenty of daytime sunshine and you’ve got a beautiful balanced wine. It is ridiculously good value for a bottle full of classic chardonnay - fresh citrus, crisp pear and lovely mineral notes.
