We're going to let Sam Kim do the talking here... "This is gorgeously fragrant and engaging on the nose showing dark mushroom, thyme, baked apple and oatmeal characters, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate delivering terrific richness with expansive mouthfeel and bright acidity. Delectably appealing." We couldn't have said it better ourselves, simply delicious!

The Lane is an Adelaide Hills favourite of ours at the ‘fo. These guys have been producing wines since the early 90’s, and each year goes from strength to strength, producing wines of consistent quality. In more recent years, they have taken a strong approach to sustainability, incorporating environmentally conscious practices into everything they do. Precise winemaking and care has gone into this chardonnay and it shows, with some whole bunch pressing, and lees stirring creating complexity. This wine is sourced from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, grown on the producer’s estate. The wine is an idyllic expression of Adelaide Hills terroir, showcasing bright summer fruits of peaches and nectarine, yet it retains a purity and freshness with lemon zest and orange blossom on the nose, with a slight roundness, with nuttiness and toasted granola, to give the wine a little texture and intrigue.

Don’t waste another minuette, it’s time for some rosé! Calling the limestone terroir of La Livinière it’s home, winery Domaine Gayda has followed the practises of organic farming and exemplifies estate values where wines are rooted in tradition. Made from 60% mourvèdre, 15% syrah, 15% grenache and 10% cinsault, this rosé is elegant, fresh and floral. With a beautiful complexity of melon, white raspberry and strawberry, this wine will be even more mouthwatering when paired with fresh seafood.

The Woodvale wines are made by Kevin Mitchell, one of Clare Valley’s best winemakers. Fresh out of the 2021 vintage, this wine comes from selected parcels from across the Clare Valley and according to Kevin is "an ode to Mort Mitchell’s Sharegarden that he managed when he was a much younger man!". As you can imagine - the wine is superb!

Tomich are a mofo fave - their pinots and chardonnays both rock, and their aromatic whites are go-to summer wines for us. This is perfect Hills chardonnay with a touch of age - fruit-rich flavour and lively acidity. White nectarines and green apples abound, driven by acid and crunchy texture. Clean and crisp, it’s nevertheless loaded with satisfying flavour.

Let us take you all the way to Veneto without even having to leave your backyard. This classic Italian grigio delivers in spades, providing subtle floral notes over the nose, firm pear flavours and the palate weight of a gentle hug by the sea. The subtle tartness on the finish wraps it up neatly and demands a light dish of grilled white fish or maybe some green olives. We recommend enjoying a glass or two in your sun drenched garden at around about 4pm. With low sulphites throughout the winemaking process and organically grown fruit and a DOC classification to boot, Savian has been kicking wine goals for decades.
