Why do we love this case?

We all know the expression about dangling a carrot in front of someone. But what if this entire case of wine is ‘carrots’ so to speak? We’re talking about Kilikanoon after all, maybe the best producer in the Clare Valley. All you can really do is dangle an even bigger carrot we suppose. So that’s what we did. You’ll get 5 bottles of Ridgeline shiraz, probably enough in itself to make this case find its way to your cart. But why stop there? We’ve added the ultimate carrot, a bottle of their Oracle shiraz, which is nothing short of a showstopper. All carrots, no sticks...that’s how we roll.

Each case contains the following:

1 bottle of Kilikanoon Oracle Shiraz 2016

Clare Valley, SA

95pts Halliday Wine Companion | Australian Winery of the Year, Mundus Vini | 5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

From old vines and so very expressive, Kilikanoon’s Oracle shiraz is an absolute stunner. It’s silky smooth with layered olive tapenade, dark chocolate, aniseed and hints of licorice, cinnamon and clove. The fruit spectrum speaks to blue and blackberries and 18 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak has provided structure along with fine tannins. Superb stuff from a titan of SA wine.

YOU’D PAY $96 full price per bottle.

5 bottles of Kilikanoon Ridgeline Shiraz 2019

Clare Valley, SA

Australian Winery of the Year, Mundus Vini | 5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

Ridgeline isn’t just a marketing term for this shiraz. The grapes are sourced from a few rows at the very top of the hill on their Morrison’s Vineyard, overlooking the town of Watervale. There’s a smidge of new oak used here, but the majority is older barrels to the tune of 15 months. This provides a bit of texture and structure while still letting that fruit sing. We found dark cherry, plum, dried herbs and licorice all wrapped up in a savoury blanket with a lengthy finish and ripe tannins. Another hit from a producer that seems to know no other way.

YOU’D PAY $65 full price per bottle.
