The Upgrade Case - Château de la Clapière Cru Classé Rosé 2020
- Crisp, dry
We all know the expression about dangling a carrot in front of someone. But what if this entire case of wine is ‘carrots’ so to speak? You’ll get 11 bottles of Les Amandiers Bouteille Rosé 2020, probably enough in itself to make this case find its way to your cart. But why stop there? We’ve added the ultimate carrot, a bottle of Château de la Clapière Cru Classé Rosé 2020, which is nothing short of a showstopper. All carrots, no sticks...that’s how we roll.
What’s in the Case?
Each case contains the following:
1 bottle of Château de la Clapière Cru Classé Rosé 2020
Among the great many estates producing decent rosé in Provence, there is an elite group of 18 Cru Classé makers that constitute the cream of the crop. These are the best of the best, where Provence hangs its pretty pink hat. This one, made of a classic blend of cinsault, grenache and syrah, is equal parts undemanding and interesting. It’s delicately charming, with gentle aromas of tropical fruits, sage and mountainous Mediterranean minerality, finishing with a dash of grenadine sweetness and an orange pith twist. It’s the perfect pairing for anything involving sunshine.

11 bottles of Les Amandiers Bouteille Rosé 2020
Rhône Valley, France
It’s not apparent from the name, but this rocking Rhône rosé is from Domaine Raymond Usseglio, one of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape superstars. We reckon this is what they like to kick back with after a long, tiring day of tasting mega-complex Châteauneuf. And if it’s good enough for the winemaker, it’s good enough for us. Bright, sweet-fruited, crisp and absurdly refreshing, this is about the best accompaniment to a sunny day you can find. It may not be the most serious of wines, but it’s seriously good wine.
